Worth pupils performed exceptionally well at a Junior Model United Nations conference last weekend, culminating in the School winning the prestigious Best Delegation Award as well as three individual awards.
The School sent seven pupils to the Reigate Grammar School MUN conference on Saturday. The event provided an excellent opportunity for pupils to develop their debating skills and deepen their understanding of the procedural aspects of MUN committee sessions.
During the course of the day, pupils engaged in vigorous debate on a range of pressing global issues across multiple committees, representing the nations of Turkey and the United Kingdom. The conference concluded with a high-stakes General Assembly ‘crisis’ session focused on a global cyberattack.
While there is no overall winner at MUN conferences, the Best Delegation Award is the most prestigious prize, so we were delighted to win that. In addition, three pupils earned individual awards for their contributions in committee.
MUN conferences are a simulation of the United Nations for pupils in schools and higher education.
Congratulations to all pupils who represented the School.
